It strikes me that while DW is a great place for writers what with the free speech policies and such, the lack of image hosting ability makes it a little trickier for us visual artist types. I wonder if there'll ever be some form of image hosting features put in place?

...I happened to see this post on the dreamwidth.org/latest page so I thought I'd speak up :)

They are definitely planning image hosting features in the future, from what I hear. They want to rewrite the system to be better than LJ's Scrapbook, though, which I gather is why we don't have any yet.

Oh, I'm happy to be patient about it. I was more curious about whether that was something being looked at or not.

FWIW, I hate Scrapbook, it's really user-hostile.

Yeah, we pretty much hate Scrapbook with a vengeance, and are debating between rolling our own and adapting another OSS package and bolting it onto DW with some really good superglue. There's a post in dw_biz asking for people to tell us what they want!

Scrapbook really is pretty awful. I never cared for it, anyhow.
